I am a life-long educator who has served as a public high school teacher, religious educator, and a college professor in the fields of religion, philosophy, and education at universities in California and Wisconsin.

Assistant Professor

Marian University / Fond Du Lac, WI

Served in a one-year replacement position as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy.  Taught "The Examined Life," "Social and Political Philosophy" and "Philosophy of Religion."

2005 - 2012

Assistant Professor

National Louis University / Chicago

Served as an Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Curriculum and Instruction. In this graduate position I helped transform current k-12 teachers into master teachers as they completed their master's degree.

1997 - 2004

Assistant Professor

Carroll University / Waukesha, WI

Served as an Assistant Professor of Religion and Philosophy. Taught: "First-Year Seminar," "Introduction to Philosophy," "Understanding Religion," "Asian Religions," "World Philosophy," "Philosophy of Religion," "Contemporary Christian Ethics."

Ph.D. in Religion & Social Ethics

University of Southern California / Los Angeles

Focus of work was on ethical issues surrounding war and peace, legal ethics, and church and state issues. Dissertation developed an ethic of nonproliferation by drawing from pacifist, feminist and liberationist theological and ethical voices.

1990

M.Div.

Union Theological Seminary / New York

Academic emphasis was in the field of Christian Ethics. Master's Thesis explored the implications of Latin American liberation theology for the ethical evaluation of the use of violence and nonviolence in social change.

Double Major: Social Sciences (History and Political Science) and Speech/Theatre.
